Water is life. Join ceremonialist and author Isla Macleod and Water Sensitive Cambridge for an afternoon dedicated to water. Let’s acknowledge our relationship with this amazing and essential element in gratitude: the river below ground, our taps, all beings and every breath we take. Life creates the water cycle, and we are as much part of it as the rain, clouds and forests.

The event is in the Empty Common Community Garden garden framed by Hobson’s and Vicar’s Brook, two chalk streams from one source. All attendees are active participants in the ceremony and creators guided by Isla.

“Ceremony is an ancient and powerful way for humans to re-member and enrich our connection with what is sacred in our lives. Participating in ceremony helps to cultivate feelings of acceptance, clarity and belonging, and inspires us to live in harmony with Nature and the Cosmos.”
– Isla Macleod

Isla Macleod is a creator of ceremonies, transformational healer and author based in Somerset. Isla offers bespoke ceremonies, rituals, pilgrimages, retreats, and healing journeys “to help you integrate and weave yourself back to wholeness”. We are excited to see what she creates for Cambridge, its water, and its more-than-human communities.

The ceremony ends with a fire and a warming cup of chai.

This event is presented as part of the Cambridge Nature Festival 2024

It will take place on Sunday 26th May from 2:30pm.
